by bus by train 2 (sketches)

back with some blackbook/sketchbook pages i filled up with more sleeping, unaware and aware strangers i met in the early hours of the day, late in the evening or in the middle of the night by bus and train. some of the characters are fictitious - as you might have noticed. oh, and there are some sketches i did while i was visiting the "koerperwelten" exhibition a few months ago (the dead stuff) - hacked the system there, because you are not allowed to take photos (they want you to buy the books and cards), but there's nothing speaking against doing some sketches, beside the very bad lighting maybe.

these are some very small ballpen-sketches (6,5cm x 4,5cm) i made while the awesome "hidden orchestra" was performing in germany a few weeks ago. i was sitting in the first row and the mood was perfect to do some sketches. i actually never did something like that before and i had to realize that i did not bring any paper or pen. i was lucky enough, that my girlfriend had a notebook and an old ballpen with her. ;) the lighting wasn't perfect and the notebook turned out to be really small and hard to handle but at the end i managed to draw a sketch of every member of the band - more or less. ;) awesome music, had a really great evening!

say hello to my girlfriend. did this one yesterday on a small post-it note (10cm x 10cm). she's playing "xenoblade chronicles x" on the wiiu, her game of the year... year? i mean decade. :D

oh and a merry christmas to all of you btw. :)

broen / bron / the bridge / die brücke fan art: "kim"

back with some fan art i originally started almost half a year ago. finally got the time to finish it. it's a portrait of an actor i really like. kim bodnia, first time i saw him, was his performance in the "pusher series" - really good old refn stuff. if you haven't seen it yet, go watch it. also nice: "in china tThey eat dogs I & II" this one is based on "broen / bron". really liked his acting here (again). it's kinda part of the "true detective" series i once made. hope you like.

by bus by train (sketches)

back with some mixed pencil and brush pen sketches from my sketchbook. thought i take some pictures of them, since i haven't uploaded anything in weeks. at least something to share i guess... this is a small selection of sketches, all done between may and august 2015. i normally do sketches on a daily basis on the way to the office: bus and train are fantastic places to wake up while drawing some strokes. :)

there's some stuff here from imagination but most of the time its interesting people i watched while traveling...

MAD MAX fan art: "Imperator Furiosa"

the colours, the action, the characters, the art design... all that small details, the world and it's depth - it's credibility. i had so much fun with "MAD MAX: FURY ROAD". truth is, i actually don't like Charlize very much, but Imperator Furiosa is one of the coolest movie characters in years. if you haven't seen it yet, go watch it, totally worth it.

hope you like (added a wip-gif again)!

old geralt couldn't believe his otherwise so precise instincs. could this be her?

this game blows my mind... i am already 29 hours in and i am still lvl 6. this game! at a loss for words... just speechless with admiration.
thank you CD PROJECT RED, you guys are INSANE!

//edit

//and here's a little something for all the people missing someone special. hope you like. ;)

birthday present: "milestone II"

last week my dad turned 50! CELEBRATION! ;)

this is my present for him. for this painting i used an old photo as a reference. the small guy on the left is me, the man on the right my dad. i really like the picture... unfortunately the photos i just made didn't turned out that good (bad light conditions here in the middle of the night), maybe i'll update it with another one tomorrow, before i'll hand it over.

stretched (mini) canvas, acryl on cotton 20cm x 20cm

"SHIGURUI: Death Frenzy" fan art

Gennosuke Fujiki and Seigen Irako. i am in love with Shigurui. this is a personal interpretation of the cover illustration from the first manga book. recently i was searching for some new manga to read and animes to watch, found a lot of good things, including Shigurui. i watched both blu ray's without a brake, seriously - i was under a spell. i am reading through the manga right now... can't wait to see how it'll end!

SHELTER 2 fan art: "the law"

fan art for the game "Shelter 2" by "Might and Delight". this one was a real relief, really relaxing. working on that piece had a similar effect on my like playing the first Shelter - kind of. this one is called "the law" and by that i mean "the law of the jungle", "survival of the fittest". i LOVE Shelter (the prequel), it's art design, the concept and the music is just fantastic. can't wait to play that Lynx. :)

if you haven't played it already, i highly recommend the first game!

ps: Shelter 1 & 2 both are using very unique art design. i really love that texture-patterns (inspired by the Japanese kamon) used in-game, so instead of just cutting out parts from screenshots i wanted to stay true to that original art... i actually recreated the squares i wanted to work with in my fan art piece from scratch! it was a cool experience, kind of reverse engineering and took me a while to get used to and to achieve the final piece. WIP-images of the progress and the final outcome are listed above, hope you like it.

ALIEN ISOLATION fan art: "awaiting 2"

i started this piece mid-october back in 2014, but after i was done illustrating the main idea of the piece (alien birth), i wasn't interested in doing another stroke, not to mention finishing it. today i was in the mood to give it another try and finally put an end to it. this one is called "awaiting 2", settled right before getting on the cursed spacestation named Sevastopol. it is still not really finished in my eyes, there are still parts i would like to change especially storytelling-wise, but since it was planed to deliver just one idea on a simple comic-page, it's okay the way it is now i guess. besides, sometimes i need to put older, unfinished stuff out first before i can start with new things. ANYWAY... i really enjoy the main idea/concept of the page and hope you like it too:

-> to be a witness of the birth of an alien (its cell devision/evolution), just by looking at the change of moving bubbles in a cup of black coffee. the cup is beeing put on the Sevastopol-flyer, amanda is looking at - right above the center of the station... the fact that amanda takes a big sip has also meaning to it of course, same goes for the chilly last line from amanda... (i guess you can tell, if you're familiar with the alien-franchise and the game "Alien: Isolation" ofc.).

OBEY! fan art: "rarely aware"

the very clever game "OBEY", by Daniel Dez has such a unique concept that it instantly blew my mind... (imagine a combination of "1984", "Battle Royale" and "Powerpuff Girls"). i really hope, that it'll get the attention it deserves - i am afraid that it'll be not enough "CALL OF ASSASSINS CRY 23" to hit the masses - which is so ironical, since it's the first game i've ever seen which is that close to our very own authoritarian systems of power and influence, although it's still very early in development, its presented already in such an charming and innocent way, that i had to jump right in. all the best for the future, obey!

it's out on early access now and you can give it a try. INSTANT buy!
